Bus Trip to Guadalajara (March 15-18)

The two couples (Susie & Doug Schelbert - Steve & Melissa) headed for the Mexican bus station with backpacks and bottled wine for a trip to Guadalajara. Famous for mariachi music, tequila and home of the sombrero. The blue agave can only be grown in the State of Jalisco. And on every corner is a mariachi - indigenous to south Guadalajara - derived from the name "Maria" with the Nahualt diminutive "chi".

La Villa del Ensueno in Tlaquepaque (tah-key-PAH keh) is a small colonial boutique hotel with exceptional service.

Amenities include tequila service by the pool.

Dining on the banks of Lago de Chapala near the Mercado de Artesanias.

Relaxing from heavy shopping in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco. Just southeast of downtown Guadalajara there are numerous stylish restaurants, galleries and local artesanias.
