After cruising Greece in July 2012, we decided to cruise the British Virgin Islands in 2013. We allotted time for both land and sea adventures.
Getting to Road Town, Tortola started out on a little Cape Air twin prop leaving from Puerto Rico. You don't get to a little island on a big Boeing!
After a rough weather start, our first anchorage was The Baths off of Virgin Gorda.
Dings are no longer allowed on the beach. Therefore, swimming back and forth and a deep-water jump back into the moored dinghy is required. Melissa had issues with the re-entry technique.
We did manage to make it back to the sailboat and headed for Saba Rock at the north end of Virgin Gorda. Saba Rock has undergone an "up-click" in appearance. But the PainKillers were awesome!
The next day found us headed back south to the Caves of Norman Island for a bit of snorkeling and cool dinghy rides.
Then of course, a bit of partying onboard the Willy T - a converted 100 foot schooner anchored in The Bight. This is our new friends from Canada, Harry & Liz who also admitted that they intended only to stop by for ONE drink.
