Back at Sea - Cruisin' the BVI

While it's fun to be ashore, sailors just can't keep from wanting back on their boat! We spent an hour or so at the colorful shops on the boardwalk, grabbed a rum drink and headed out to sea!

For over 40 years, Foxy and his wife Tessa have been welcoming sailors to probably the world's most famous off-the-beaten-path beach bar.

Rum is the spoken language, of course.  And "yo" the real Foxy was playin' his guitar this very day just around the corner of this bar.

Owners, Rose & John Chinnery literally grabbed 2 live lobsters from the trap and cooked them to perfection.  This is a rather new restaurant that promises to set itself apart, for sure.

One heck of a storm with lightning and high winds blew in just as we were floating back in the dinghy.  I had to sit on the companionway to enjoy my cuban cigar and rum drink as the wind howled for over 3 hours.

But the next morning, the sailing was easy over to Sandy Cay for a brisk ride to the beach on the ground swells.

Then another brief sail over to White Bay, Jost Van Dyke to sample some "painkillers".  According to legend, PainKillers were first invented right here!

The next morning was a Sunday (Mother's Day) and there was a bit of panic to find a place to get some more ice for the boat.  Then a long sail through The Narrows to the Sir Francis Drake Channel onward to Great Harbour on Peter Island.         "Boats don't sail nice with no ice!"

Relaxing in Great Harbour.

"The Deliverance" a traveling floating grocery store stopped by to sell us a few more limes and some fresh baked sweet rolls for breakfast.
